Laundry for seven without losing your weekend
In a big family, laundry never ends. Leave it two days and the pile turns into a mountain nobody wants to climb. The fix isn't more effort. It's a rhythm small enough that it happens without thinking.
One load a day, every day
Put one load on before breakfast and get it dry by tea time. That's it. A single daily load stops the weekend marathon and keeps the floor of the bathroom visible.
A basket per person
Clean clothes go straight from the line or dryer into each person's basket. Children old enough to walk to their room carry their own basket up. Nobody sorts a giant pile on the sofa.
The folding rule
Little ones fold socks and pants. Bigger ones fold their own tops. Perfect folding is not the goal; clothes in drawers is.
Give everyone a day
If one load a day still feels like a lot, give each person a wash day. Monday is the eldest's, Tuesday is yours, and so on. It's easier to remember than a rota on the fridge.
